What makes the Future System the very best Fins System on the market? Our design contains a unique encompassing flange for enduring strength. This setup allows for a full base fin to maximize speed and power. But our strength does not come at a cost, because the Future System also has the lightest installed weight of any fin system. With only one screw, it also is the easiest and quickest installation of any fin system.

Materials

The material determines flex: flex = projection, projection = speed, speed = control.
And control lets you get ridiculous in your surfing.  As with all of our foils and templates, each of our materials is state-of-the art.  Each specific material has been been painstakingly researched, tested, reformulated to find the absolute, best material we can offer.  We do no not offer "cheap" or discount material or line.

The key is to find what suites your style best.  Power surfers, or larger surfers tend to like stiffer flex patters that they can push against while others like more sensitive, nimble and looser feeling to their ride.

BlackStix / combined transfer molded engineered flex - Black Stix combines various processing techniques to produce a strategically designed flex structure, created by a crescent shaped, carbon leading edge fin.  The inlay of the two materials creates a torsional flex pattern for storing potential energy and releasing kinetic energy int whip-like turns.  Light and strong, this highly desinged fin has a patterned flex rebound to take your suring to its full potential.  Constantly pushing the envelope of what a fin should be and do.

Clear and colored Hex RTM - Lightweight foam hex core glass fin that has the look and feel of a glass-on fin.  Engineered with a medium flex pattern.  Great for all conditions.

Soft Flex RTM - Carbon at the fins base and tip, with a hex foam core keeps the base strong and moves the flex in the middle of the fin.  Engineered for small waves and loose surfing.

Fiberglass - Futures offers you the state of the art fiberglass fins with our renowned foil technology for the classic ride.  Our unique lay-up method creates a sensitive fin with a natural, progressive flex pattern.

Fiberglass G-10 - This extremely stiff material is basically many layers of compressed fiberglass.  Perfect for big surf and tow-in boards, G-10 offers tons of drive and control.

Natural Composite - Molded-resin with long fiberglass matrix, this composite material fuses into a sensitive, snappy and lightweight fin that retains the proper flex pattern for performance.  Super light material that practically floats.

Foilsfoil powerband

A well designed fin does more then keep you from spinning out. The degree of foil - the curved cross section of the fin, along with the angle (how the fin tilts in relation to the bottom of the board), toe and other factors can add different dimensions to the feel of your board. The foils can create projection, torque, speed, maneuverability and release, and affect your board dramatically. Future Fins has created some of the most successful foils available, with decades of experience and testing, along with pro riders input, and input from the average surfer going into every series.

foils
VECTOR V.1
For increased speed & thrust - A unique patented Vector Foil creates lift in the same way an airplane does.  Curved on both sides - as opposed to a Traditional Foil with a flat inner face, the extra lift creates projection and increases water attachment which also increases drive and speed.

VECTOR II
A vector Foil and Traditional Foil blend - takes the best speed generating attributes of the Vector foil (at the base) and transitions into a flat foil in the tip for a controlled release in critical turns.  Rusty and the pro team have helped develop this hybrid which keeps your surfing smooth and progressive.

3/2

Putting a new wrinkle on fin design - Dual Plane angles for speed/response, enhance water attachment throughout more of the turn, decreasing drag.  Favored by Tim Curran and other surfers with a fast and loose style, this fin was designed for point break and powerful waves, to et you around sections, while keeping speed through turns.

3/2/1
Triple Plane angles for speed/response - The most innovative fin on the market, the 3/2/1 combines three separate planes, creating three angles of attack.  Drag is reduced dramatically, and your board will feel faster and looser.  David Rastovich and Mikala Jones find this fin to be unsurpassed in waves under 10-12 feet.  Designed for punchy beach breaks, with tight and crisp top to bottom surfing in mind.

SCIMITAR

A new twist on the Vector series - The latest in a long line of successful leaps in fin evolution, the Scimitar is  variable-plane fin, based on a variable-based algorithm.  Starting with our Vector foil, the fin twists from base to the lip, allowing for different plane angles to focus lift where demands of your water pressure are highest - from down-the-line drive at the base of the fin, to the tip for fin-releasing turns.

TRADITIONAL
Proven Success - The end results of rider tested, validated fin desgins will always form our foundation.  Future's traditional fin line-up has templates for every size, shape, expertise, and style of rider, from finely-tuned smaller templates for Groms and Girls (what our pro team ride like John-John or Keala Kennelly) to full-size templates for pro talent like Ry Craike, Mikala Jones, and Pancho Sullivan.  Tell your local surf shop what you want from your next fin.

Fin Boxes

Future fin boxes are the most user friendly and strongest removable fin system available on the market. The system offers all the positive features of removable fins, while providing better performance than glass-on fins.

The patented design makes for the quickest and easiest installation process available. Also available for twins, bonzers, longboard center and side fins.

Suspension System

The Vector Full Suspension System (VFSS) and the Vector Rear Suspension System (VRSS) are installed inside the existing polyurethane foam blank. The Vector Rear Suspension System having two internal carbon tubes strategically placed in the foam blank to connect the three fin boxes is designed to stabilize the Vector foil fins (due to their high lift forces) and provide greater control for the surfer. The Vector Full Suspension System blank contains two internal carbon tubes strategically placed in the foam blank that connects the three fin boxes and a main carbon tube running the full length of the board. The VFSS is designed to stabilize the Vector foil fins (due to their high lift forces) and causes the board to move quicker in the water and respond faster to the rider movements. The main carbon tube is engineered to control the flex memory of the board there for sustaining speed thru out.
